Irish In Sweden - Cueing Up The Jokes With Snooker-Mad Stand-Up Brian O'Grady
A fascinating chat about performing, sport and impressing our ten-year-old selves.
This may come out of left field for the many new subscribers that have signed up in the last week (welcome, by the way!), but I make a number of different podcasts for the Irish abroad, and on this one for the Irish in Sweden, I’ve talked to the multi-talented and very entertaining Brian O’Grady.
A Tipp man from Thurles who moved here in 1995, Brian is a fascinating character who spends a lot of his time ignoring the conventions of modern life, instead doing the things he likes to do most - stand-up comedy and playing snooker, both of which he has become very proficient at over the years.
We talk about work, life in Sweden, having the nerve to do stand-up, and how playing snooker at a high level is something that would have very much impressed Brian’s ten-year-old self.
Get the kettle on, or get the dog ready for a walk, it’s well worth a listen!
